Saints parade on 2-9-2010, two days after the World
Champion Saints won the Super Bowl.

LAGNIAPPE: We all know that the trophy in Coach Sean
Payton's hand in the photo I took is the LOMBARDI
TROPHY, the trophy named after the famous Coach Vince
Lombardi. It is given to the National Football League's
winner of the Super Bowl Championship Game.
But did you know that Vince Lombardi's grandson, Joe
Lombardi, is the Saints quarterback coach! More

The Lombardi connection is another wonderful part of
the Who Dat Nation story that gave a city hope. I also
want to share what I recorded from Steve Sabol, head of
NFL film and a man who has filmed all 44 Super Bowls,
as he spoke on TV immediately after the game:
"Tell me the truth and I will believe; Tell me a
fact and I will learn; But tell me a story and it will
live in my heart forever. This Super Bowl goes
instantaneously into American folklore. It is triumph
that symbolizes a city's rebirth, the growing stardom
of Dree Brees, and the bravado and the fearless
decision-making of the coach, Sean Payton."
Amen! Happy Mardi Gras! This year will be a
photographer's delight.
