Many of you know of my love of gadgets and how they help with communication. Reliable communicate of accurate information is critical during a crisis as we all know.

BlackBerry, portable computer with wireless data card -Verizon broadband (not Wi-Fi), handcrank powered radio, flashlight, portable GPS, etc. have been fantastic help. Cell phone is reliable for data message as voice is usually not available due to "congestion" but text messaging or email to phone or BlackBerry works great.
